Keeper

By Dianne Trujillo

You come to me and pour out all your emotions

I am able to tell what you’re feeling by the pressure your stories cause

When you’re upset it’s the roughest feeling as you push into me, almost as if it were my fault

Sometimes when you’re sad I can feel your tears fall on me smearing the words you’ve written

When you’re happy there’s usually a variety of color

You’re the only one who ever lets me breathe, anyone else is forbidden

You are my person, and I am your keeper
